Awakening – 21 Days of Praying & Fasting

January 11-31

We invite you to join Pastor Matt and Martha Fry, and the C3 Staff as we fast and pray for 21 days. We’re so grateful to see all that God has done at C3. But, as you know, this is only the beginning. January 11-31, we will be partnering with Celebration Church (Jacksonville, FL) and hundreds of other churches around the country for 21 Days of Praying and Fasting. We believe our churches will have their greatest impact ever in 2009 by seeking God together through prayer and fasting at the start of the year.

FOCUS:

The fast is a spiritual discipline designed to better connect us with God. As a church, we are fasting to prepare our hearts for what God is going to do, and to stretch our faith to believe Him for big miracles. The best way to do this is to redirect our food source. This is accomplished through substituting our regular food intake with Bible reading, praying, and journaling. The overall goal is to experience a genuine hunger for spending time with God and to grow our faith in what God can do!

MENU:

The Daniel’s Fast is a partial fast, which means that we will eliminate some common things from our daily diet, but will have generous options available. We will focus on eating fruits and vegetables that are pure and simple. We have included a list of foods to eat and goods to avoid.

If you have any condition which would prohibit you from being a part of the Daniel Fast, there are other options. Choose something from your daily routine (i.e. specific foods or beverages, television, other technology, etc.) and fast in that manner for the 21 days. Remember, the details are not as important as the spirit in which you participate.

*If you have any known medical conditions or suspect such conditions, consult your doctor before beginning the fast.

FAST FORWARD:

God is certain to bless your life in new and exciting ways during the fast. We encourage you to write down your prayers and the many ways God reveals Himself to you. Praise Him for the relationship you have with Him and the work He is doing in your life.

Angel Tree

November 29 – December 7: Angel tags are available
December 3 – 14: Bring gifts to the church

“…It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Acts 20:35

Angel Tree is a unique outreach opportunity for C3 to show Christ’s love by giving to underprivileged children in the community who may not receive anything at Christmas.

There will be Christmas trees in the lobby from November 29 – December 7 holding Angel tags with a child’s name and a gift for that child. Take the tag of the child you would like to help and bring the gift back no later than December 14. By taking a tag, you are committing to bring a gift back. You may take as many tags as you would like, as long as you are able to return a gift with each tag taken.

Instructions for Angel Tree gifts:

  • If possible, please include a gift receipt with each gift.
  • Each gift should be wrapped with the angel tag securely attached to the outside of the gift.
  • If you lose your Angel, please attach a note with a detailed description of the gift (and any other information you can remember from the ornament).
  • Please return your gifts to the Angel Trees.
  • Remember that each child has at least 4 Angels on the tree so please only buy what is on the Angel that you take, nothing additional. If you would like to provide more gifts, please take more Angels.
  • For more information, email Karen Dawkins (kadawkins@gmail.com)
